Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS)
Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS) or loose vagina is a quite common medical condition described as a loss of the optimal vaginal structure. It is usually associated with vaginal child delivery, multiple pregnancies, natural aging and menopause.
Vaginal lining, lubrication and tightness are all under the effect of female hormones. Vaginal atrophy happens as a consequence of menopause and due to decline of the hormonal level.
Loose vagina leads to reduction of friction during intercourse and thus to decrease or loss of sexual gratification.
VRS treatment options ranging from pelvic muscles exercise, hormonal treatment in form of creams and tablets and invasive surgical procedure where we cut and rearrange vaginal and peripheral tissue in order to reduce the size of vaginal canal.
Operating on or near sensitive vaginal tissue is inherently risky and can cause scarring, nerve damage and decreased sensation. Furthermore, patients require an extended recovery period. The most popular among the surgical procedures are those performed with lasers, where the laser is used instead of scalpel.
Novel Laser treatment is available to deliver laser energy pulses to vaginal canal and introitus area causes controlled tissue heating to the deep layers of the vagina.
Laser controlled heating will lead to stimulation of skin strength and elasticity, immediate tissue contracture and that leads to shrinking, tightening of the vagina and better control of urine incontinence.
